Fr Wenna Henry Tiku – RIP
On behalf of William, Fr Henry’s brother, his family and Holy Cross Church, we would like to express our gratitude for all your messages, your kindness, compassion and generosity.The Funeral in Arua, Uganda was attended by more than 5000 persons and 80 members of Clergy. It clear that Fr Henry was much loved. Thank you to all the 4 parishioners who travelled to Uganda. The Diocese of Ocodri was very grateful.

Missio Red Box March collection
Please collect your envelope at the back of the church. Empty your Red Box and return the contents to the Church or to me by 28th March. Journey in Faith 2024 – 2025 (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Please pray for our Catechumens, Kim, Chika, Lorraine and Jason, who celebrated the Rite of Election at St George’s Cathedral on Saturday afternoon, their next formal step towards being received into the Catholic Church at Easter.

The Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis are hosting a Sharing Your Faith Workshop. This one day workshop aims to explore what it means to share our Catholic Faith. Archdiocesan Jubilee Celebration Day at The Friars, Aylesford 7 June 25. Led by Archbishop John Wilson, we will gather as an Archdiocese at The Friars, Aylesford for a day of prayer, reflection, celebration, and fun. There will be lots of activities, for children as well as for adults. A walking pilgrimage will also be from St George’s Cathedral in Southwark to The Friars (2-6 June 2025). The event itself is free. St Elphege’s is putting on a coach for the day itself, so to join, please contact wallington@rcaos.org.uk. The price per person will be published soon. They have 20 reserved seats for those interested and is on a first come first- serve basis. We are seeking designs from our young parishioners to include in this summer’s First Holy Communion, and Confirmation Mass booklets.
Two prize winning designs will be chosen from artwork fulfilling this brief:
The design should convey:
Either to year 3 child, the sacrament of HOLY COMMUNION, illustrating our Catholic belief that our Lord Jesus Christ is truly present in the consecrated bread and wine: Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, True Food for our souls.
Or to a year 10 student, the sacrament of CONFIRMATION, illustrating an aspect of these words: “Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ, and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. The designs will be painted/drawn in colour on an A4 sheet and submitted by 25 March 2025 to: Father Vincent, Holy Cross Parish Office,.Please include your name, age and a contact address on the reverse. Submissions will be assessed on the following criteria: Compliance with the brief and Quality of concept and design.
