Thinking of becoming a Catholic?

Journey in Faith 2025 – 2026 (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

This process prepares adults who are seeking to be received into the Catholic Church. It invites people to deepen their knowledge of Jesus and their relationship with Him. Weekly sessions take people through the key teachings of the Catholic faith and the issues facing Catholics in today’s world.  We look in detail at the sacramental life and prepare those who decide to become Catholics to receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion) in due course.

Other parishioners who would like to join us and perhaps refresh their own faith are also very welcome. Sessions begin with an introductory evening and refreshments on THURSDAY 18th SEPTEMBER 2025 at 7:30 pm in the parish centre.

If you are interested, please contact the RCIA co-ordinator, Kathy Ball, via the contact form on the parish website or emaiI: edmsutton@rcaos.org.uk

World Day for Grandparents and The Elderly: Sunday 27 July 25

“Blessed are those who have not lost hope” (cf. Sir 14:2).

God of love, We thank you for our wonderful grandparents. Bless them with long life, happiness, and health. Let them feel the tenderness and strength of your presence. As they look back to the past, let them rejoice in your mercy. As they look to the future, may they persevere in hope that does not fade.Thank you for all the special times that we have with them. We pray for the elderly who feel isolated at this time and for all who have died. And when our time comes to be grandparents ourselves, help us to follow in their loving footsteps.

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention July: ‘For formation in discernment’

Let us pray that we might again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the Gospel.

May they rest in peace: Remember those who died recently, Margaret Collier, Francesca Morreale, Pope Francis, Fr Wenna Henry Tiku, Mary Coghlan,Sr Margaret McMullen …
Remember to pray for those who are sick the isolated, and their carers, especially those within our own Parish Community: Sidney Brown, Norah Sheridan,Mary Pierse, Edna Thornton, Mary Dolan, Maria Leggett, Doris D’Souza
