Palm Sunday – Next Weekend:
A day on which we celebrate the Lord’s entry into Jerusalem. Palms will be blessed at all Masses. The 11am Mass will begin at 10.50 am in the Hall with the Blessing of the Palms, followed by a Procession to the Church with a Solemn Reading of the Passion according to St Luke.
Happy Easter:
As Easter approaches, the parish clergy wish all the parishioners who are travelling a very happy and blessed Easter, filled with joy, peace and a renewed hope of the Resurrection.
Archdiocesan Jubilee Celebration Day at The Friars, Aylesford 7 June 25. Led by Archbishop John Wilson, we will gather as an Archdiocese at The Friars, for a day of prayer, reflection and fun.There will be lots of activities, for children as well as for adults.This will be the centre-piece event of the Jubilee in the Archdiocese of Southwark. A walking pilgrimage will also be from St George’s Cathedral in Southwark to The Friars (2-6 June 2025). The event itself is free. St Elphege’s is putting on a coach for the day itself, so to join, please contact the Parish office to book and pay or St Elphege’s wallington@rcaos.org.uk .The price per person will is £18. Journey in Faith 2024 – 2025 (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
At 9:30 Mass this weekend, the 3rd Scrutiny is celebrated. The readings used are from Year A of the liturgical cycle.
Gospel – Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead.
Theme – Jesus reveals himself as the resurrection and the life. Is there anything in my life that holds me in a binding grip?

Children’s Liturgy Group – Sunday 9.30 am Mass.
A huge thank you to everyone for your generous support with the bake sale last week. We raised an impressive £200.50 (£191 in cash and £9.50 in promised repayments). This will enable us to replenish craft supplies and plan exciting special activities for the children. We are very grateful for your support and generosity, thank you again!

Lenten Penitential Service – Friday 11th April, 7-8 pm
Guided examination of conscience, reflection and meditation through scripture and song, opportunity for private confession. Refreshments will be served in the hall after the service.
Churches Together in Carshalton – Good Friday Walk
You are most welcome to take part in the Good Friday Walk of Witness on 18th April 2025. Christians from Carshalton will gather from 11.15 a.m. at the side entrance to Carshalton Park, behind the Methodist Church at The Park gate. The Walk will begin at 11.30 a.m. and then proceed to Beacon Grove in Carshalton High Street. A Prayer service will be held at the Memorial Gardens by the Ponds around 12.15.p.m. Do join at any point along the way. Afterwards you will be invited for refreshments in All Saints Church.
Prayer for the sanctity of all human life, specifically concerning Assisted Suicide
Parishes and religious houses are invited to offer a Holy Hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament for the sanctity of all human life on either Passion Sunday (6 April), or the Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of Holy Week (14, 15, 16 April).

Before the start of Eucharistic Adoration, we will have a 15 minute meditation for the First Saturday Devotion as requested by our Blessed Virgin to Sr Lucia (one of the 3 shepherd children of Fatima) on the 10th December 1925. This year is the 100th anniversary of this message when our lady appeared to Sr Lucia in Pontevedra. Called to Bear Fruit – A reminder
There are still copies of this large blue booklet for collection in the Church Porch. We are asked to respond to questions about the Shape and Future of the Archdiocese of Southwark. Meetings should be in small groups to consider and agree a response by 6th April. We are asked to think about how our parish is doing and it’s purpose in our lives. Also our own commitment to living our faith. Your views matter in future decision making. Thank you.

We are seeking designs from our young parishioners to include in this summer’s First Holy Communion, and Confirmation Mass booklets.
Two prize winning designs will be chosen from artwork fulfilling this brief:
The design should convey:
Either to year 3 child, the sacrament of HOLY COMMUNION, illustrating our Catholic belief.
Or to a year 10 student, the sacrament of CONFIRMATION, illustrating an aspect of these words: “Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ, and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings.
The designs will be painted/drawn in colour on an A4 sheet and to: Fr Vincent, Holy Cross Parish Office. Please include: name, age and a contact address on the reverse. Submissions will be assessed on the following criteria: Compliance with the brief and Quality of concept and design.
