Priest Training Fund Second Collection: Today is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.  As members of the Church, we are encouraged to pray earnestly for an increase in priestly and religious vocations. This week we take up the second collection in support of the Priest Training Fund, which pays for the formation of Southwark Seminarians and Deacons and the good work of our vocations team. Please be generous to this appeal today. Your gifts will support 7 men currently in formation to the Priesthood for our Diocese. There will be a donation envelope available at Mass, which can be used to Gift Aid your donation. You can also donate online via www.rcsouthwark.co.uk/vocations.htm, by scanning the QR code, or via telephone on 020 7960 2504 (office hours Monday – Friday).  Thank you for your prayers and generosity.

First Holy Communion 2021: For children in Year 3 and above that are due to make their First Reconciliation and Holy Communion this year, classes will begin in September with the First Holy Communion Masses taking place on 27 / 28 November 2021. If you would like your child to make their First Holy Communion at Holy Cross this year please email your child’s name, date of birth, school and year to fhcholycross@gmail.com so that the Catechist Team can keep you updated with the arrangements.

Thank you for your generous donations to CAFOD’s Family Fast Day during Lent. We featured Marian and her son Svondo in Zimbabwe in Lent 2018. The community vegetable garden that your donations helped provide is growing well and during the pandemic the family has survived on the vegetables. Your support has also helped to provide soap and handwashing stations in the garden and in family homes. This is just one of many long-term development projects that CAFOD has funded with the money from that Fast Day. Thank you for your steadfast support.

MIGRANT MASS: The 16th Migrant Mass is being hosted online this year by the Diocese of Southwark on Saturday 1st May 2021 at 11.20am from St. William of York, Forest Hill, London SE23. In this the Year of St Joseph and in honour of St. Joseph the Worker, the Diocese of Westminster, Southwark and Brentwood come together to give thanks in celebration for the international nature of our churches, the work migrants contribute to our society, our concern for their welfare, welcome and human dignity. The main celebrant is Bishop Paul McAleenan. All are welcome. Please join the Mass at Migrants Mass (actionnetwork.org)
